MAN HELD WITHOUT BOND ON ARSON THREAT

Robert Eugene Whitacre of Cumberland was jailed without bond, after being involved in an assault incident in the 300-block of Grand Avenue. Whitacre had allegedly threatened to blow up a house there, light it on fire, and assault a woman inside the home. He was taken to UPMC-Western Maryland for an evaluation. Following a District Court hearing, he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center.
