The city of Cumberland has approved the creation of a COVID-19 small business relief fund, which will provide assistance to small business owners who have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. The $106,000 fund, a combination of city and state money, was originally intended to offer small business loans to entities in need of gap funding during times of transition. The state has agreed to relinquish any claims on the funds, to allow it to be used to help deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
