The Allegany County branch of the NAACP has announced the formation of a Community Relations Board. The group will be chaired by Dr. Tom Bowling, recently retired from Frostburg State University and now Vice-President of Student Affairs Emeritus. The organization’s goal is to “increase the communication and collaboration between organizations that are working on human rights and racial justice.” A recent fundraising dinner was held, which raised $6,000, according to Carmen Jackson, President of the local NAACP branch.
