Two four-year-old girls were struck while trying to cross Interstate 70 in Hagerstown; one of the two has died. The girls, twin sisters, were hit by two separate vehicles, as they were following a male teenage cousin who left a car, and ran across two lanes of the highway to the center median. One of the twins was taken to Meritus Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The other child was transported to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. No charges have been filed, but the accident remains under investigation.
