BOARD VOTES ON RETURN TO HYBRID/IN-PERSON LEARNING

The Allegany County Board of Education voted on a plan for a return to hybrid/in-person learning at a special meeting yesterday. Career Center Skill area students and students without connectivity will return on February 8th; on February 13th, fall athletics and extracurricular activities will begin. On March 1st, students  in pre-K, kindergarten and Grade 1, those students failing or failing to engage in virtual learning and identified students with special needs will return. On March 8th, students in Grades 2 through 5, 6, 9, and 12 will return. Finally, on March 15th, students in grades 7, 8, 10, and 11 will return. As always, parents will have the option to “opt out” of the in-person;/hybrid learning model and have their child remain in a virtual learning environment.
