If you work in a nursing home or hospital, getting a vaccination is no longer an option; it’s a requirement. The Governor made the announcement during a press conference in Annapolis. If you choose not to be vaccinated, you can look forward to regular testing. Vaccinations will be required, no later than September 1st. The Governor also announced he is pushing for vaccination approval for 5 to 11-year olds sooner, rather than later. The state is on track to have 80 per cent of residents vaccinated by Labor Day. As of today, 94 per cent of Maryland’s senior citizens have been vaccinated. Governor Hogan also pointed out that 100 per cent of all new COVID cases stem from the Delta variant.
