COVID CASES MORE THAN DOUBLE THE STATE AVERAGE

COVID-19 case and positivity rates in Allegany County are still more than double the statewide average. The most recent rate was 44.84 per 100,000, with a positivity rate of 7.65 per cent. Maryland’s case rate was 18.33 per 100,000, with a positivity rate of 3.78 per cent. Free COVID vaccines are sill being offered at the Willowbrook Road office from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. every Wednesday. There have been 72 new cases, but zero additional deaths. As of October 7th, 45.1 per cent of all Allegany County residents were fully vaccinated, compared to a rate of 65 per cent of all Marylanders. Free testing continues this week at the Allegany County Fairgrounds from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, along with Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
