CONFLUENCE MAN SENTENCED IN DRUG TRAFFICKING CASE

Confluence, Pennsylvania resident Lance Smith has been sentenced to time served for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy. Smith pleaded guilty in April to one count of conspiracy to distribute heroin and cocaine base, better known as “crack.” Judge Thomas Kleeh decided that Smith had spent enough time in prison for his role in the conspiracy. He admitted to working with others to distribute the drugs from March of 2018 to September of last year in Monongalia County. Smith was one of 17 people initially indicted for their alleged roles in the ring. Of the 17, 16 have pleaded guilty, ten have been sentenced, six are awaiting sentencing, and one person was found not guilty at trial.
