Crews were on the scene most of the day yesterday, repairing a 24-inch water main break and a gas line break in the 700-block of Fayette Street, near Washington Street. First reports came in after 1 a.m. yesterday, and drivers were asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes. Eight city employees and Columbia Gas were on the scene by daybreak, performing repairs. Fayette Street was shut down, between Luteman Road and Tilghman Avenue. No infrastructure damage was done, except for the road surface in the area of the break.
