FORMER BROADCASTER PASSES AT 70

Former area broadcaster, John Robert “Bob” Hidey passed away Saturday at UPMC-Western Maryland. He was 70. In his radio career, Bob had worked at the former WCUM and also at WTBO. He was later employed in the cable television industry. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, son, Robbie, and daughter, Mary. He is also survived by his granddaughter, goddaughter, and several nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home on Virginia Avenue Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 10th at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Hillcrest Burial Park. The family is kindly requesting visitors wear a mask when visiting the funeral home.
