Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says that 50-counties in the Commonwealth have agreed to join the opioid settlement that would bring more than one-billion-dollars to Pennsylvania. In a statement Wednesday, the A.G. said Pennsylvania has been one of the lead states in negotiating the 26-billion-dollar global settlement with the nation’s three major pharmaceutical. While it is up to local governments to decide where the funds will be allocated, the settlement stipulates that every dollar of funding must be used to combat the opioid crisis. Some 232-million-dollars of the settlement could be delivered next year.
