MARYLAND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OPENS AT NOON TODAY

The Maryland General Assembly opens its 90-day 2022 session today at noon.  Lawmakers will hold a number of virtual meetings and plan to livestream many committee hearings as another COVID surge dampens debates for a third straight year.  There will be many progressive proposals on the table this year, including legalizing marijuana, climate change legislation and providing more protection for renters facing eviction.  This will be the final legislative session under Republican Governor Hogan.
