GENERAL ASSEMBLY PASSES BAN ON DECLAWING CATS

The Maryland General Assembly is approving a ban on declawing cats.  Veterinarians would face the possibility of suspension or revocation of their license and fines of up to five-thousand dollars for a first offense and ten-thousand dollars for subsequent violations.  Maryland would join New York as the only other state to ban cat declawing.  Governor Larry Hogan has not said if he will sign the bill.
