LAWMAKERS URGED TO INVEST COVID MONEY IN WORKING FAMILIES

Advocacy groups in Pennsylvania say investing federal coronavirus aid directly to working families would help the state’s economy continue to recover from the pandemic. State officials say Pennsylvania still has over two billion dollars to spend of more than seven-billion-dollars it received through the American Rescue Plan. Some lawmakers’ strategies would give one-time rebate checks to low-income renters and homeowners, low-to-moderate-income families, and individuals or small businesses. Many republicans, though, have advised saving the relief aid for future use.
