Last night was “Sine Die” for the Maryland General Assembly, meaning the 2022 session is over. Maryland lawmakers entered the final day of their session yesterday, after overriding Governor Larry Hogan’s vetoes of bills ranging from expansion of abortion access to paid family leave. Governor Hogan had vetoed the paid family leave bill over concerns about its cost but the bill’s sponsor — Delegate CT Wilson, a Charles County Democrat — says ten other states have passed similar legislation and that the time is right for such a bill.
