Cumberland resident James Kenneth Flohr is begin charged with attempted murder, arson, and assault, following an incident in the 400-block of Baltimore Avenue on Friday. Flohr allegedly assaulted a woman on the front porch; he then intentionally set the fire inside the residence, and had told police he had hidden a homemade explosive device in the residence. No bomb was found; Flohr was charged and made an initial appearance in Allegany County District Court. He was held without bond. The investigation is continuing by the Cumberland City Police Department, the Maryland State Fire re Marshal’s Office and C3I.
