Maryland is adding more than a thousand new COVID cases for the first time in more than two months. Data released by the state health department shows an increase of one-thousand-44 new infections and six additional virus-related deaths. Maryland’s seven-day positivity rate is over four-and-a-half-percent. Hospitalizations are by up by 17, to 170 coronavirus patients. Nine children are hospitalized with the virus, including three receiving intensive care.
