COVID CASES RISE IN MARYLAND, BUT HOSPITALIZATIONS ARE LOW

COVID-19 infections continue to rise in Maryland, but health officials are not sounding the alarm.  President and CEO of the Maryland Hospital Association Bob Atlas says despite an increase in new cases, the number of hospitalizations remains low.  He says that COVID patients represent just over three-percent of all patients in Maryland hospitals, which is one of the lowest percentages since the pandemic began.  The state health department reported over 13-hundred new coronavirus infections on Wednesday, with the state’s positivity rate above five-percent.
