Thirty-year-old Matthew Koontz faces numerous charges in connection to Wednesday’s theft and subsequent chase through several fields and properties in Bedford County. Koontz allegedly stole several items from a residence in the 5000-block of Bedford Valley Road, and led police on a chase that led through a cornfield, causing significant damage. The chase ended when Koontz struck a ditch, disabling his vehicle. He is being held on $75,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing on July 13th.
