Organizers say two straight weekends of events started Saturday at Jennerstown Speedway to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Quecreek mine rescue. Millions of people around the world followed the updates of the 77-hour effort to save nine men trapped in an unmapped mine on July 24, 2002. They were left 200 feet underground after breaking through the wall of a nearby abandoned mine.
