UMBC OFFICER CHARGED IN ARSONS

A police officer at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County is facing arson charges following a rash of campus fires. A Baltimore County grand jury has indicted 36-year-old Walter Christopher on a dozen counts, including second-degree arson, second-degree malicious burning, and malicious destruction of property while he was on duty as a campus police officer. According to the investigation Christopher, a two-year employee at UMBC, set a total of four fires while on duty.
