HOGAN PREPARING FOR COVID-19 AND FLU SURGES

Governor Larry Hogan wants to stay ahead of things when it comes to potential COVID-19 and flu surges.  Maryland’s leader has informed hospitals that they should use additional state funding to help increase their pediatric ICU staffing.  In addition, Hogan said the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems will expand its Critical Care Coordination Center.  This will help in the event that pediatric centers get overwhelmed during the fall and winter.  Marylanders are encouraged to get their flu and COVID-19 vaccines to help limit the spread of both viruses.
