Fewer Marylanders are filing for unemployment benefits. The U.S. Labor Department reports just under 18-hundred new jobless claims were filed in the weekend ending October 29th. That’s a drop of about 120 from the previous week’s revised totals. In DC, new filings increased by 75 and they jumped by around 340 in Virginia. Nationally, new jobless claims fell by one thousand, for a total of 217-thousand.
