HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR AND MEMBER OF SCHINDLER’S LIST DIES AT 93

A Maryland resident who survived the Holocaust because she was placed on the famous Schindler’s List has passed away.  Helen Silber was 93 when she died in her sleep at her home on October 25th.  Silber was a teenager when she was chosen to work in German businessman Oskar Schindler’s factories, which enabled her to survive the Holocaust, including a brief stay at Auschwitz.  Years later, Silber would become a consultant to director Steven Spielberg during production of his Academy Award winning film, Schindler’s List.  Funeral services for Silber were held Friday.
