WALMART TO PAY $120 MILLION TO PA. IN OPIOID SETTLEMENT

State Attorney General Josh Shapiro says Walmart will soon have to pay Pennsylvania more than 120-million-dollars. It’s part of a three-billion-dollar settlement to resolve allegations that the retailer contributed to the opioid crisis by not properly overseeing dispensing at its pharmacies. The money given to the commonwealth will help fund addiction treatments in impacted communities. Tuesday’s agreement is the result of a investigation, led by Shapiro, into the actions of six drug manufacturers and three distributors.
