FEMA DENIES AID FOR AUGUST FLOOD DAMAGE

Local officials in Kanawha and Fayette Counties in West Virginia say they’ll work with their congressional representatives to appeal the federal government’s denial of aid for the region.  In a letter to Governor Jim Justice, the Federal Emergency Management Agency wrote that the damage from the floods was not serious enough to justify individual federal aid.  Many Kanawha County residents say the August 15th flooding was some of the worst they’ve ever experienced.
