GRANT FUNDING ANNOUNCED FOR RURAL COMMUNITIES

Governor Larry Hogan is announcing 50-million dollars in grants for development projects in rural communities. Five projects were funded in Allegany County, including the renovation of 19 Frederick Street, expansion of the nursing program at Allegany College of Maryland, along with the development of shovel-ready “pad sites “in the Barton Business Park and the Frostburg Industrial Park. Funding was also received for Garrett County.  The money will go toward economic development projects across the state that focus on improved internet access, tourism, walking and biking trails, and event facilities, among other things.
