Former convict Adnan Syed has a new job. Georgetown University announced yesterday he’s been hired to work for its Prison and Justice Initiative. The initiative focuses on the consequences of mass incarceration and offers support to incarcerated individuals and returning citizens. Syed’s new role has him providing education and post-release training in business and law. Syed was convicted in 1999 of killing his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee. Prosecutors filed a motion to vacate his murder conviction after a year-long investigation revealed two new possible suspects.
