HOGAN ADMINISTRATION AGREES TO CONTRACT WITH LARGEST STATE WORKERS’ UNION

Governor Larry Hogan’s administration has agreed to a contract with the state’s largest workers’ union.  The two sides hammered out an agreement over the weekend.   The deal with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Maryland Council 3 provides step wage hikes for eligible workers in the upcoming fiscal year, beginning in July.  The increases average about 2-point-4 percent.  But union leaders call the increases inadequate and say they don’t keep pace with inflation.
