Five people were hurt in a two-car head on crash in Mount Savage yesterday afternoon; two were flown to the hospital by the Medivac helicopter. The crash happened on Route 36 near Iron Rail Street, which was closed for more than two hours. The injured included two children, one of whom was flown to an area trauma center, while three others were taken by ambulance. The driver of one of the vehicles was extricated. The crash occurred around 3:25 p.m., and the roadway was opened just before 6 p.m.
