Cumberland resident Charles George Doonis has been charged with second-degree assault, following an incident early Sunday evening in the 800-block of Columbia Avenue. One of the residents told police that Doonis had grabbed him by the neck. Injuries were consistent with his account and Doonis was placed under arrest. He received a District Court hearing and was later released on personal recognizance.
