S.H.A. ENCOURAGES DRIVERS TO USE REAL-TIME TRAFFIC MAP

The Key Bridge is no longer a travel option so the 30-thousand vehicles that crossed it daily are taking different routes leading to heavier traffic on Baltimore roadways. The State Highway Administration is encouraging drivers to use its real-time traffic map to plan their routes before heading out by clicking the Interactive Map icon at chart.maryland.gov. The Maryland Department of Transportation says I-95, the Fort McHenry Tunnel, I-895, the Harbor Tunnel and the Baltimore Beltway are seeing higher than normal traffic volumes, especially in bad weather. Drivers should plan for extra commuting time, increase following distance and pay close attention while driving.
