June 10th is scheduled to be the last day for Allegany County Public School students, according to Superintendent Michael Martirano. State law requires students to attend school for at least 180 days. To meet that requirement, ACPS has set aside June 8th through the 10th as potential “inclement weather” backup days, allowing the district to now use those days. Students will be dismissed three hours early on June 10th. Teachers’ last day is June 11th, to be used for a principal meeting and additional work time. The updated calendar was approved on February 3rd.
