Officials with the automaker — Toyota — have announced they’re building a plant in the Mountain State to make hybrid transaxles. The 88-million dollar plant will be located in Buffalo, West Virginia and will be the only Toyota plant in North America that will be making them. Hybrid transaxles transfer power between the engine, the electric motor and the wheels. Toyota officials say they’re also donating 100-thousand dollars to the Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center’s workforce development center at Marshall University to bolster recruiting efforts.
