Roaring Spring resident Elaine Marie Pilkerton faces charges, after allegedly abandoning her autistic teen son and his younger brother for several days. Police were alerted when there was a report the kids may have been home alone; the oldest child reached out to a friend’s mother, after they ran out of food. They found the home to be, quote, “absolutely disgusting.” The boys’ father in Texas was contacted, while their grandmother drove from Maryland to take custody of them. While she said she left the children to cross state lines for work, the boys told troopers she left to go to Tennessee with her boyfriend. She was arraigned Sunday evening and placed in the Blair County prison, with bail set at $15,000.
