MD. STATE POLICE ISSUE WARNING ABOUT M.V.A. SCAM MESSAGES

Maryland State Police are issuing a warning about scammers who are posing as Motor Vehicle Administration employees.  The scammers are sending bogus text messages from long, random phone numbers and police say recipients should not click on any links or share personal information.  The MVA does not contact customers through unsolicited texts from unknown numbers.  The MVA says anyone who receives a scam message should delete it immediately and report it to the Federal Trade Commission.
