TROOPER FIVE RESPONDS TO CHEAT RIVER AREA ROLLOVER ACCIDENT

The Maryland State Police Trooper Five helicopter aided in the response to a rollover accident Sunday night near the Cheat River. A side-by-side rolled over an embankment, and because of the victim’s injuries, first responders decided not to evacuate the patient with a rescue boat, so the helicopter was called in to fly the victim to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment. Several agencies responded to the accident, including the Cheat Lake Volunteer Fire Department, the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Police, and  Monongalia County EMS personnel.
