JURY CONVICTS WOMAN OF FELONY THEFT SCHEME

Terra Alta, West Virginia resident Tara Ashley Kearsley has been convicted of theft in Garrett County Circuit Court; Judge Justin Gregory ordered that sentencing be continued. She is accused of stealing over $5,000 from her employer, while she was an Assistant Manager at the business. Employees of the business pointed out records of numerous return transactions for expensive items conducted by Ms. Kearsley, but no such returns took place. During this time, she was also making bank deposits for the business; the deposits were short in amounts corresponding to the false returns that totaled more than $5,000. These incidents occurred in April of last year.
