MINOR DAMAGE REPORTED IN FINZEL HOUSE FIRE

A small fire in the utility room of a residence at 1305 West Finzel Road caused an estimated $1200 in damages earlier this week. The owner of the property was alerted by a smoke detector, but was able to extinguish the fire prior to the arrival of the Eastern Garrett County Volunteer Fire Department. Investigators said the cause of the fire in the split foyer residence remains under investigation, according to the Cumberland Times-News.
