Allegany County staff and the commissioners discussed the health insurance issue during a preliminary budget workshop yesterday. According to the Cumberland Times-News, the county proposes increasing the monthly reimbursement for those who have alternative plans, to $150 per month, up from the current $50 per month. The county currently spends about $8 million per year on employee health insurance.
