A judge has denied the petition of Somerset County Sheriff Dusty Weir, to dismiss a charge of corruption of minors. Weir’s attorney has argued the allegations against Weir did not meet the definition of corruption of minors. Weir is accused of, during a “Shop With A Cop” event in December of 2024, luring a 15-year-old girl to the condom section of the Somerset Walmart, and allegedly asked her various inappropriate and sexual questions. With the denial to dismiss, the case will move forward, with the State Attorney General’s Office prosecuting.
