-Change water daily (cool) ...Closed flower buds could initially be placed in warm water so they can bloom faster. - Add a sprinkle of flower food (is a packet was included with the flowers). If you use too much flower food, it will cause the flower to die early. -Remove any leaves that fall below the water line. - Each day, the flower stems should be cut by a fourth of an inch preferably at a 45 degree angle) to prevent bacterial infection. -Keep out of sunlight, hot or cold drafts , and away from fruit. Homemade flower food: - Use 2 tablespoons vinegar plus 3 tablespoons of sugar per one liter of warm water. The vinegar kills bacteria and the sugar feeds the flowers. - Or, use clear soda, such as Sprite/7UP. Add 3 tablespoons of the soda to one liter of water. The sugars in the soda will act similar to flower food, but don't use too much; too much sugar can hurt a flower.
