Dozens of new laws are on the books after Governor Wes Moore completed his third bill-signing ceremony following this year’s General Assembly session. Moore signed over 100 bills addressing affordability, public safety, and infrastructure statewide. Among the measures is the Utility Relief Act, aimed at helping Marylanders manage rising energy costs. The governor also signed Mason’s Law, named for 13-year-old Mason Kearns, a Mount Airy teen who died after he was swept into a storm drain during a flash flood last summer. The law requires storm drains to be marked, guarded, and graded to prevent deadly accidents during severe storms.
