The National Rifle Association plans to sue Maryland over a new law that bans the manufacture, purchase and sale of pistols that can easily be converted to machine-gun type weapons. The law targets semiautomatic handguns like Glocks that can be converted to automatic fire with an aftermarket device. The NRA says the law is an infringement of the Second Amendment. John Commerford from the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action says Governor Wes Moore has banned one of the most popular handguns in America. He says instead of going after criminals and enforcing existing laws, the governor has chosen to disarm law-abiding Marylanders and strip them of their constitutional rights.
