Two Oakland residents were arrested this week on charges of both child neglect and animal neglect and cruelty. Both 35-year-old Devin James Gray and 19-year-old Leah Rose Stemple were taken into custody along the 2500-block of Fingerboard Road, following a joint investigation. Numerous animals were recovered, and one was taken to HART for veterinary treatment with the remaining animals taken to the shelter for care. Two minor children were placed in the care and custody of Social Services. Ms. Stemple was released on her own recognizance, while Gray was held without bond.
