The state of Maryland is getting ready for today’s primary election to determine which candidates will face off in the November general election. Maryland is a closed primary state, meaning only registered Republicans and Democrats can cast a ballot for statewide candidates. Residents who are not registered to vote can sign up on election day at their local polling place with proof of their residency. Primary voters will determine the candidates for Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller, General Assembly and the state’s Congressional Delegation in Washington, DC. There are also races for county leadership across the state.
