A Mineral County pitcher is the state’s top high school baseball player. Lanson Orndorf of Frankfort High School won the Lowery Award after a dominant senior season. Orndorf threw complete-game wins in both the state quarterfinal and the Class double-A championship, both played right here in Huntington. He finished the year with an eleven and three record and an ERA under one. Orndorf will pitch next for the University of Charleston.
