“Wings and Wheels” Event at Garrett County Airport

The Garrett County Airport is having a “Wings and Wheels” event on Saturday, June 28th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Airplanes and cars will be on display; food trucks will be available; the Maryland Aviation Division will have a flight simulator on hand; there will be a candy drop from a helicopter for the kids; and, many other interesting things to see. DEEP CREEK LAKE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

The DCL 100 Birthday Bash is a celebration of both the 100-year legacy of Deep Creek Lake and the vibrant community that makes it special. Savage Mountain Punk Arts presents their traveling rock and roll petting zoo, providing kids throughout Allegany County the opportunity to try their hands at rock and roll instruments. Ever wanted to sit behind a drum kit, strum a power chord through an amp, or play a synthesizer? Ages 12-17 are invited to try their hands (literally) with instruments to rock out with local practicing musicians as guide.

Headsville Country Ruritan Car Show

The Headsville Countryside Ruritan will be sponsoring a car show at the Keyser WalMart on Saturday June 14th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds from the car show benefits scholarships, the Building Fund and WalMart Children’s Network. Come out enjoy food, drinks, a silent auction, and a DJ. Some trophies will be awarded. The rain date is June 21, 2025.
Dan’s Mountain Trail Spruce Up Days
Saturday June 28th and July 12th 9am – noon
Meet up at the trailhead across from the pool. Help park staff improve recreation opportunities on the Lonacona Loop by building a new connector trail that will provide sustainable, shorter loops to enjoy. No tools or experience are needed, just a willingness to work hard, learn new skills, and enjoy the company of trail enthusiasts from the community. Please bring your own water, work gloves, and comfortable work boots. Free pizza will be provided at noon, courtesy of the Dans Mountain Volunteer Team.
Cumberland Valley Township VFD Cruise In

The Cumberland Valley Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 18th annual Cruise-In on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at their department, 4344 Bedford Valley Road. The cruise-in is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The burn-out contest is at 6 p.m. Food will be available, as the department will be having a chicken BBQ, homemade ice-cream and more.

Glade Highlands Antique Iron Association

There will be a tractor show, June 13th through the 16th at the Glade UCC Church, along Route 160, north of Berlin, Pa. There will be tractor rides on Saturday; on Sunday, there’ll be a chicken BBQ and Tractor Square Dancing.
Oldtown Summerfest

This year marks the 25th year for the Oldtown Summerfest. This year, Summerfest will be held on Saturday, June 28th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Firemen’s Parade will be held, beginning at 11a.m., weather permitting. Other activities will be from Noon to 5 p.m., rain or shine! they include Civil War Reenactors, crafts and artisan vendors, and food vendors. There will be free balloon art, ponies, a bounce house, and a free photo booth. First English Baptist Church Vacation Bible School

The First English Baptist Church, on East Main Street in Frostburg, is holding a Vacation Bible School, on June 15th through the 18th. Bible School will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and is designed for kids in kindergarten through 8th grade. Come have loads of fun, make some crafts, and learn about Jesus!
Prescription Drug Take Back Days
June 17th and June 19th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Various law enforcement agencies, in conjunction with the Allegany County Health Department, will conduct two prescription drug Take Back Days, on June 17th and June 19th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Turn in unused, unwanted, or expired medication for safe disposal at Pharmacare South on Industrial Boulevard, on Tuesday June 17th; the second Take Back Day will be held on Thursday, June 19th, at Pharmacare West on Greene Street.
Frostburg Elks Derby Day
Friday, July 4, 2025, beginning at 9 a.m.
The 48th annual Frostburg Elks Derby Day is being held July 4th, beginning at 9 a.m. (Rain date is July 5th) The event began in 1977 with 22 cars; they are anticipating 64 cars and drivers this year, racing down Main Street. A parade of drivers begins at 9 a.m. Trophies will be awarded after the last race, in front of the Elks Lodge.
New Covenant Craft and Vendor Show
