The Maple City Farmer’s Market takes place every Thursday through September at Paul E. Fuller Park in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Farmer’s Market features baked goods, flowers, plants, crafts, hand-made items and much more!

Allegany County Farmer’s Markets

Get fresh fruits, plants, and vegetables at Farmer’s Markets in Allegany County. They are being held through October 30th at Canal Place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Thursday; at City Place in Frostburg on Fridays through October 24th, also from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and, at the Canal Place Depot on Saturdays through October 25th.

Western Md. Philanthropies All You Can Eat Crab Legs

Western Maryland Philanthropies, Inc. is presenting an all you can eat Jimmy Joy’s Snow Crab Legs event. There’ll also be shrimp and corn. the event is being held at Hoffman Hollow in Frostburg, beginning at 1 p.m. D.J. Dan Fisher will be there until 4 p.m. “Wayward Son” starts at 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. There’s a beer truck, paper gaming and 50/50s. Short Gap VFC All-You-Can Eat Wing Dinner

The Short Gap Volunteer Fire Company will have an all-you-can-eat wing dinner on Saturday, September20, 2025, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $20 for adults and there will be a reduced rate for children. The meal includes your choice of 8 wing flavors, along with french fries and cole slaw, as well as dips and drinks included. Games of chance will be played during the entire event. Cresaptown Eagles Auxiliary Charity Event

The Cresaptown Eagles Auxiliary will be holding a charity bingo event on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Rawlings, Dawson Community Picnic, Health & Fun Fair

A “Basket and Brews” fundraiser for Friends Aware will be held on Sunday, September 28th at the 1812 Brewery with basket raffles, game boards, 50/50 drawings. Reservoir Talks-Garrett College

On Thursday, September 18, at 6:30pm in the Performing Arts Center of Garrett College, the Appalachian Laboratory will delve into the waters of Garrett County! Jeff Cornwell, Andrew Heyes, and Ryan Woodland, scientists with the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, will present lightning talks about their research in reservoirs across western Maryland, including Deep Creek Lake, Broadford Lake and Savage River Reservoir. Good Vibes Save Lives

Saturday 9/20 3-8PM

The Somerset County Suicide Prevention Task Force will be hosting its 6th annual “Good Vibes Save Lives” event, at Laurel Arts, 214 Harrison Avenue, Somerset.

This family-friendly event is free. T-shirts will be sold and donations accepted. Musical acts, food, and free ice cream courtesy of the Allied Milk Producers from 4-6:30pm.
The event is designed to raise awareness, offer prevention resources, and provide a place to gather in support of those affected by suicide. There will be a variety of exhibitors providing information and resources on suicide prevention and family support.
A memorial wall will be posted on the grounds. To include a loved one’s name, please send a private message to the task force through their Facebook page – Somerset County Suicide Prevention Task Force. There will be an area to do chalk drawings and personalize luminary bags.

A luminary lighting at 7:30pm will conclude the event.
This event is made possible by donations from many individuals and businesses. To donate, you may do so at the event or through the QR code on the Facebook page.

Spaghetti Dinner- Mt Carmel

The Levels Volunteer Fire Company will have a country ham or BBQ chicken dinner on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Dinners come with a side of green beans, a baked potato, and a water. Country ham sandwiches are sold separately. The cost is $15 for adults, $8 for children, 12 and under. Country ham sandwiches are $5.00. Drive through style, but there is limited seating available to dine in. Dinner starts at 3 p.m., and lasts until sold out.

The Patterson Creek Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting its first chicken BBQ on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11 a.m. until they’re sold out. The dinner will be held at the station address on Patterson Creek Village Pike in Ridgeley. Full meals, at $10 each, include half a chicken, baked beans, macaroni salad at a roll. Appalachian Festival at F.S.U.

The Festival will celebrate it’s 20th year on September 18-20 at Frostburg State University!
On Thursday the 18th at 7pm kick off the weekend with our Film Festival at the Palace Theatre on Main Street. The featured film this year is “King Coal” as well as selected shorts from the region.
On Friday the 19th don’t miss the Symposium on FSU’s Upper Quad which features a variety of speakers discussing “Then & Now: 20 Years in Appalachia.”
On Saturday September 20th, return to the Upper Quad and enjoy free music and activities on campus including Regional Music, Bluegrass, Old-time String band, Community Brass Bands, Appalachian Traditional Dance, Traditional Arts and Crafts, Cultural Programs, Appalachian Food, Children’s Activities, Scales and Tales, Local Artisans, Environmental Education & More!
