A Tree Lighting Celebration will be held on Sunday, November 30th at the St. Michael’s Courtyard in Frostburg at 6:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., there will be free carriage rides, s’mores, and free refreshments. New Life Bible Camp will host its annual Turkey Bowl flag football tournament on Saturday, November 22nd, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the ministry of New Life Bible Camp. New Life is a Christian camp ministry in Buffalo Mills, Pennsylvania, serving children, teens, and adults in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. Jaycces Seeking Donations for Christmas Shopping Tour

The Western Maryland Jaycees are gearing up for their annual holiday event, the Christmas Shopping Tour on Saturday, December 13th. The event serves children who might not be eligible for other programs, but are still very much in need. They are reaching out to the community for support and donations. Any donation, no matter the size, will go a long way in helping them reach their goal of helping 30 children at this year’s event. The Meyersdale Area Merchants’ Association presidents the “Elves of Christmas Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, November 29th from Noon to 3 p.m. It is free to participate, and there will be cash prizes for first, second, and third place, as well as Best Team Name. Sign up at the Pennsylvania Maple Festival Park entrance to register. There will be everything from produce vendors, baked goods and delicious concession food, to handmade items, crafts and antiques. Then, from 4 to 8 p.m., there is the Helen Caton Light Up Night and Visits with Santa. There will be the tree lighting, visits and pictures with Santa, cookie decorating, free hot chocolate, a free S’more’s bar and fireworks.

The 22nd Storybook Holiday will feature all of the experiences we have come to know and love! Breakfast with the Elves, the author presentation (this year’s featured author is Kristin Kladstrup with her book “The Gingerbread Pirates”), Elf Olympics, crafts in the Elves’ Secret Workshop, the Holiday parade will be kicked off by a Mountain City Center for the Arts performance in front of the Gunter and the “Run your Bells off for Autism” fun run at 10:30 will lead the parade down Main Street. The Frostburg Library hosts storybook readings with a craft, the festival of trees at City Place and finishing the night with a classic holiday movie played at the Frostburg Palace Theatre!
